Qarth in Game of Thrones is a major port city protected by a stone wall and sturdy gates. In the reality, this place is known as Lokrum.
Lokrum lies south-east of Dubrovnik, and boasts the most beautiful landscape such as a beautiful green forest and the shimmering blue sea in the background, ideal for visitors. There is an old walled town on the uninhabited island without any hotels, shops or restaurants, only with the ruins of an old Benedictine monastery. This gives you the feeling of going back in time. Lokrum is mainly used for filming. Besides the breathtaking panoramas you can swim, sunbathe and visit the botanical gardens.
