Holiday Destinations Every Single Brit Must See

A 2017 study commissioned by Auto Europe explains that Brits secretly save an average of £3,528, without ever disclosing it to their partners. This money is mainly destined to afford holidays, as described by a whopping 27.3% candidates. Truth be told, sometimes it’s nice to take a break from daily routine and just be in the company of friends during holidays – without going overboard on expenses. So here’s a list of four events around the world for single people, taking place at different seasons of the year (all within the £3K budget). We hope these inspire your next travel plans!

1. March: SXSW

“Keep Austin weird”. This is the motto for the Texan city of Austin, in the US. The annual South by Southwest festival is a nonstop marathon of film discussions, music festivals, trade-shows and conferences. SXSW hosts performances from international artists, as well as panels with scoops from the latest movie releases and spoilers from the trendiest TC shows.

Austin, known as the Live Music Capital of the World, is full of young people, with an abundance of green spaces, touristic attractions and a vibrant night life. Furthermore, the city offers the best culinary scenes in the state – just stroll down the 6th street to get a glimpse of it. A car hire can easily afford you the freedom to explore nearby cities and save money on holidays at the same time. For single Brits, the grand total of this trip, including airplane tickets and the SXSW entrance ($825, cheapest option) will not go over £3K.

Most events take place in Marrakech’s main square, Place Djemaa el-Fna, populated by all sorts of stores, food stands and cafés.

Moreover, foodies can indulge in the local cuisine, featuring flavourful herbs and spices, tajines, kebabs and meat delicacies paired with couscous. 4. December:  Sydney’s New Year’s Eve

Australians know a thing or two about taking the end of the year festivities to the next level. The iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge Sydney, for instance, turns this magical moment into a mind blowing memory. Sydney is the first major city where the clock strikes midnight, welcoming the new year. It is also where spectators experience the largest fireworks display in the world. More than a million people attend the party, starting as early as 9:00 pm. They will be treated to several illuminated boats, a striking waterfront show, aerial acrobatics and an Aboriginal smoking ceremony.

Additionally, to get the most value for money in this trip, fly in a few days earlier, for approx. £1255. Be sure to explore the best that Sydney has to offer with a car hire! Experience everything from a booming shopping scene, international cuisine and great outdoors experiences.

A budget travel is not a matter of how far you can go, but how much you can enjoy your time abroad. Make the most of local experiences! A tight budget should not limit travel options, especially when you are single. Rather, it should give you the opportunity to explore in depth the places you visit and meet new people. Do you agree?
